Description

Unusual target for me, but amazing variations in the CloudyNights Goofi's challenge for July 2023 were inspiring. My rendition here looks like a rather terrifying screaming angel!

16hrs total at unity gain with ASI294MM on the AT60 reduced to 288mm f/l. Finally realized I've been inadvertently running double-filtered all season on this rig (left an L-Pro or something on the reducer since the comet earlier this year) so maybe you can get this in half the time, LOL. Fortunately it was only blocking SII, but forced me to go HOO here, and probably a better outcome anyway.

Still learning to combine RGB stars with narrowband. Maybe this version is too subtle, but ok for now. This was done using Bill Blanshan's RGB Stars-to-Narrowband Transfer PixelMath, blended method #5 (all defaults). It was the best of the other (primitive) methods I also tried.

Stretch was Generalized Hyperbolic Stretch, still learning (aren't we all).

I'll submit this to the CloudyNights Goofi's challenge for July 2023:
